John Downie is the Director of Endura Light, an Australian-owned company specialising in industrial lighting, established in 2011. With over 15 years of hands-on experience, John combines his technical expertise and eye for detail with a strong passion for environmental sustainability across the Australian industry.
John holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate Environmental and Sustainability Management. He founded Endura Light not only to supply lighting, but also to help businesses improve their environmental performance, reduce energy costs, and avoid unnecessary waste through smarter, longer-lasting solutions.
When Endura Light began, LED lighting wasn’t even an option. Today, it’s about far more than energy-efficient lamps; it’s about using the right light level, beam angle, and smart controls to deliver lasting savings and performance, with minimal impact on the environment.
John is always up for a challenge, especially when the job isn’t simple. He enjoys working closely with clients to find practical, long-term lighting solutions that reduce energy costs and perform reliably for over ten years. He takes pride in simplifying the installation process while ensuring quality and compliance are never compromised.
Over nearly 15 years in business, John and the Endura Light team have worked on projects from Cairns to Hobart to Perth, and plenty of the wide brown land in between. What he enjoys most is working with businesses doing great things in unique or niche industries, helping them light their operations efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
